Questions about Gleam Scan
How do I set up the scanner?
It arrives already set up for your organization. Connect it to your Wi-Fi once, then load your paper and press Send to Gleam on its screen. Whatever you scan shows up in your Uploads within about a minute. There are no settings to change, and Gleam never needs your Wi-Fi password.
How fast is the scanner?
It scans 1 page per second, so a 60-page stack takes about a minute.
How much is the scanner?
The scanner rents for $33 a month.
Where do my scans go?
Every scan becomes one PDF in the Uploads tab of your Gleam Dashboard, where Gleam reads every page and notes the study, participant and visit it mentions.
How does a scan get from the scanner into Gleam?
Press Send to Gleam on the scanner’s screen. It sends the PDF straight to your Gleam Dashboard over SFTP, an encrypted file transfer.
Is sending scans to Gleam secure?
Yes. Every scan travels to Gleam over SFTP, which encrypts it on the way; our scanners connect with AES-256 encryption. Each scanner signs in with its own private key, which is made on the scanner and never leaves it, and the scanner checks that it’s really talking to Gleam before it sends anything. Scans are encrypted where they’re stored too, and the raw file from the scanner is deleted as soon as it’s in your Uploads.
